The funeral account is divided into two seperate parts, our charges and the disbursements. Typically, our charges could comprise the service charge, the coffin, supply of hearse and limousine(s), embalming and chapel of rest, and other extras as requested.

The service charge covers our fees and overheads, our professional services in making the funeral arrangements, arranging all necessary documentation, conveyance of the deceased from local place of death to our private facilities in normal working hours and the use of those facilities. This also includes providing the staff required on the day of the funeral.

The cost of the coffin will be reflected in the quality and style chosen at the time of making the funeral arrangements. Our charge for the funeral vehicles will only be for those requested - obviously a hearse, either motor or horse-drawn will be needed - but limousines will only be charged if required. We do not think it is fair to charge clients 'package deals' for something they do not need.

Likewise, we offer an embalming service for occasions when the family wish to view the deceased; however if viewing is not required then this will not be carried out and no charge will be levied.

Other charges that could apply might be extra costs incurred in conveyance out of normal working hours or over longer distances, collection of ashes and supply such items as ash caskets or urns.

Disbursements are fees that we pay out on behalf of the family such as cemetary or crematorium fees, clergy and church charges, and doctors fees for completing cremation certificates. These will be itemised as accurately as possible on your estimate, but please be aware that we have no direct control over these charges. All these charges are included in the final invoice which is sent out after the funeral has been carried out.
